: They aren't 35", but most Ibanez 5's have very narrow necks. I have a Soundgear 1205 neck-through that is very narrow and easy to play. I also have a mid-80's Ibanez Roadstar II 885 with a bolt-on neck in excellent condition that has the narrowest 5-string neck I have ever seen. You may want to see if one is available used in your area. I might also be willing to part with mine since I am accumulating too many instruments (from my wife's perspective).

I feel the same way! I have small hands (dangerous for bass playing) but have
found a way around it.. I build my own. Not for everyone but it works for me.
My latest is a 5'er but the nut is the same as a 4. The standard 1-11/16" nut
on a lot of 4's is wide enough for 5 if you cut a new nut. The most difficult
thing will be to get a bridge that will allow you to adjust the spacing so all
5 strings will be over the fingerboard for the entire length. I used the bridge
parts from a Kahler that allowed me to place the individual bridges where I
wanted for the right spacing.
