: : Hey! i was wondering, im kinda short 9th grader (kinda, ha!) anyway, is it real difficult to play bass if you're not tall? and is there a way to get around that or something?
: Since I'm not a short bass player I can't really say for sure. I would guess your hand size would be more releveant than height. You might want to stick with a bass with a jazz style neck since they are thinner. And there are definitly a few short scale basses that are worth playing. I played a Gibson EB3 - a short scale bass - for many years and it has an awesome sound.
: The bottom line is that I would not let your height get in the way. As long as you are determined to be a bass player your height won't make any difference.
sweet, yeah i was wondering if it would be a major difficulty to reach the last fret (?), and if there were smaller basses for smaller hands :) thanks alot, i guess the next step is to go to a music store :)
