: I'm kinda partial to the horns and tweeters cause I am a heavy slapper, but I must admit that there are times when I would give my left leg for a big, beefy Ampeg SVT 8x10 or one of those beastly JBL 2x18s...............

Just something that popped into my mind when reading your message Zach:
If you like to do a lot of slapping it's sopposed to be good if the cabinet isn't very deep as a 'shallower' cabinet will give a clearer more punchy tone. This isn't first hand information as I only read it from somewhere. But it was one of the reasons I bought my Trace-Elliot 8x10" and it surely is great, but don't give your left leg away, trust me, you'll definately need it when moving the cabinet around.

P.S. I haven't tried Ampeq, I only know that it is deeper than many.
