: I'm starting on a solo record and I thought if anybody would have pointers about the recording process. Tricks to get better sounds? How it's good to approach a song when you write it all yourself? I'm recording the album in my home studio and later on re-do the drum tracks with a drummer I've jammed with every now and again. That we'll do in a real studio. I don't have the equipment to record drums properly. Also I'd like to add some guest appereances. I've done records with different bands and some demo stuff at home so I quess I know the basics but information would be appreciated. Just for the record the album will try to be something like John Patitucci meets The Brecker Brothers. Jazz melodys on rhythmic funky grooves.

I just bought my first John Pattitucci album, the guy is great. Good luck, Dave.
