: O.K. Permit me to take this forum from music to science for a moment. Most of you know that Spring begins in the northern hemisphere tomorrow morning at
: 8:31 am Eastern Standard Time. And most of you may remember the little trick
: you can do with a raw egg: Balance it on its end. You can do this because the
: Sun is directly over the equator and its gravitational pull is equal at both
: poles allowing an object with a solid exterior and a liquid interior to balance
: on its end. No, you can't do it with a hard boiled egg. For added excitement,
: try balancing the egg on its pointy end on a mirror; it can be done. Also you don't have to wait for 8:31 am exactly; it will work right now, and up until
: about Wednesday night. Afterwards, make an omlet!

: I await your reports.

Hey everyone. As far as this egg silliness goes, I'm not pulling anyone's leg, it does work, and will work anywhere in the world within about 12 hours of either the vernal or autumnal equinox, or so I've heard. Deman isn't the first
person I've heard said it can be done any day of the year, but, I've only tried
it on equinox days so he's probably right. It's just a gag I heard a long time
ago, but it gets the average person interested in sciene/astronomy for a little while. Hey Dat, is your egg still up? My friend's sister did it once, and the egg stayed up for almost a month. Oh, well...

Ignore the following:

Folks, as you may have guessed, this was just a YOLK. I was just trying to CRACK everyone up. All the shy people who just looked at this post and didn't
respond should try to come out of their SHELL. While some forums are good, this one is EGGCELLENT!

I'm getting my cholesterol checked soon,
Mickster
