: Im in the process of finishing the works on my de fretting job, thus Fretless.. It has a solid maple neck, and im only applying a couple thin coats of urethane, this way i can still get the wood tones. Can anyone give me their advice on string, I mean I know round wounds will eat at the board, but Im really used to them, ive never played fretless, (well only at the stores) and the flat wounds eat at my fingers, or they just feel wierd..
: Flatwounds,is the sound that dramatic?
: roundwounds, on a fretless?
: peace and chicken grease,
I agree with Lee. The D'Addarios are The HR series [half round] I have used them on my P-bass, which is not a copy, for several yrs. Best damn strings I ever used.
