: Has anyone had the problem where they can sing while playing rhthym guitar because there's more on the down beats, but when they try an' do it with bass, it's too hard? DOES anyone know of some foolproof excercises that someone such as Sting would not need, so that I could sing better with bass instead of having to claim only some vocal ability due to I only sing well while playing rhythm? That is excercises besides just plain trying to do it over and over again...

: Please mail me if so. Much Thanks!

Jim,

There are two Beattles songs that might help you with your problem. "Eight Days A Week" and "Taxman". Both of these songs have moving bass lines and melodic vocal lines. McCartney sings and plays the bass on these songs brilliantly and once you master these two songs (especially eight days a week) you will be ready for just about anything.

Also, if you are using a pick - get rid of it and alternate with your fingers.

Good Luck,
