It can definately be used in a rock band and in fact I've heard a fretless on some of Lenny Kravitz songs if I remember correctly. The growl is definately good in them. Gary Willis is a player that sometimes just has a great bass sound with a fretless and before he starts to solo you don't even notice that it is a fretless. He plays some rock tunes even if he is a jazz player.

P.S. Excellent choice The Warwick

: Hello All -

: I play in a rock band (kinda like Lenny Kravitz) and I am in the market for a new bass and I saw a fretless Warwick Corvette at my local Guitar Center and I fell in love with it. I am not a slap-pop type player but I do use my thumb from time to time for an extra boost. Would a fretless bass be good in a rock band?

: Thanks!
