Acoustic Control has been out of biz for quite a while. Samick is the company
that is reissuing the 360. Its nothing like the real deal other than a similiar look. Out here on the left coast, I've never seen a Stage amp.
: : For many many years my main gigging amp was a Stage 450 Combo. It's a 45 watt amp with a 15in speaker.
: : I bought it used around 1984. It's got a great sound and was surprisingly loud. It finally started to wear out so I retired it last fall.
: : I've always been curious about its history. Only once or twice have I ever seen an ad for a used amp by Stage and I've never seen a new one.
: : Does anyone know anything about these amps?
: : I've also always wondered what happened to the company that made Acoustic amps - the 360, the b150 etc? I still have a B150 head but it overheats and makes more line noise than an old vacum cleaner. If it worked I would still use it, in my mind nothing beats the old Acoustic sound.
: : Thanks for any info.

: Hey Bob, I don't know anything about Stage amps, but we have a really old acoustic at our local practice room. It's pretty well destroyed at this point, but when I first started using that studio it still worked. I got to use it once and it was cool. Looked cool too- orange grill covers and all. It sounds like a vacuum right before the belt breaks too. Oh well. Can you get those? -B
