: : -writing bass lines
: : -music theory
: : I know nothing about this stuff.Does anyone know of any sites or have any tips?Any help is greatly appreciated.
: I'd say it's not so much writing bass lines as *creating* bass lines that makes all the difference. Learn the basic bass patterns (i.e., walking line), and then figure out where to go from there.
: As far as theory, it's kind of a double-edged sword; if you're planning on studying jazz or classical, you'll want a good background in theory, but for something like rock, blues, country, etc., a basic understanding should probably suffice.
: Hope that helps!
