: Okay, looks isn't a big deal, I'll say it from the start....however...black finishes get so sloppy looking with smudges, and so quickly after cleaning. Any remedy for that? I'm sure there's got to be something. I heard of something couple years ago, and forgot what it was, put it on and nothing phases the finish for weeks (or months, I forget).

Marc,as sugested, car wax is a great way to protect a solid color gloss finish.Turtle Wax makes a wax with Teflon called Turtle Wax Plus that resists smuges quite well.I also wax the neck to improve the smoothness and feel.
Fine scratches can be removed by using a fine auto polishing compound followed by the regular car wax and a good buffing with a cloth.
You could also try using those car waxes with the coloring(black)in the wax though usally more expensive but probably a good investment .
Hope this helps Andy
