: Here's the link to the Photos again. Photopoint was down this morning. Try it again.
: Here's the rundown on what I'm using to make Tim's bass:
: Super lightweight swamp ash J-Style body with maple top (rear routed)
: Status Graphite P-Bass neck
: Aero or Lane Poor JC pickups (will try both and see which are better)
: Hipshot "A" style black brass bridge
: Hipshot HB6B Ultralight tuners black w/cloverleaf keys
: Black U-Retro Deluxe onboard preamp (w/passive tone control option added)
: The maple top on the bass is very unusual and I'm not sure how to describe it really. It almost looks like it has water marks on it. It'll be quite stunning when finished. We'll be doing a translucent black finish on it.
: The combination of the ash body/graphite neck/brass bridge and U-Retro preamp will make this a monster of a bass. I'll see which pickups sound best between the Lane Poor's and the Aero's.
: Everything's in now with the exception of the Hipshot stuff which is back ordered 2 weeks but I expect to get it all in and start working on it soon.
you definitely are the Dude! Beautiful work! The body wood looks especially beautiful - I can only imagine how much better it would look like with a black translucent finish on it. And that neck ...Tim knows I just DIE for graphite necks, and this Status neck looks even nicer than that in my Modulus!!! It's sure going to be one bad mother of a bass ...congratulations! If you ever post some photos of the finished project, let us know. Buena suerte and keep your basses way up front in the mix,
