: : I've got a 8x10" cab and I'd like to put a 1x15" cab with it but how will the power devide between the cabs when I only have one amp. What I'm afraid of is that will the 15" speaker take too much of the power as it's smaller? Both cabinets are 4 ohms, so I'll connect them such that they are 8 ohms that way the amp won't break.

: Yo Jenny,
: wait a minute! Both of your cabinets are 4 ohms? Then if you hook them up in parallel (which is more likely the case), you'll be running your amp at 2 ohms, not 8. Is this good or bad? It depends on wether your amp can handle that load. Some amps can and some can't. Please check out your amp manual and/or documentation before frying your amp's transformer and/or your speakers like nobody's business!!
: Now, assumming your cabinets were both 8 ohms and you hooked them in parallel (which would make up for a total 4 ohm load), then you shouldn't worry about one cabinet "absorbing" more juice than the other. If both cabinets are rated at the same impedance, then I don't see how the cabinet size could make a difference in the amount of power each one recieves. Both should take half of the power from the amp each.
: Hope this helped. Buena suerte and keep your bass up front in the mix,

Small language problems with me made my message unclear earlier. If you connect two (4 ohm) cabs parallel you do get 2 ohms but if you connect them 'the other way' in chain or in series or what ever it's called, then you should get 8 ohms, shouldn't you?
The thing I'm worried about is when both cabs take equal amount of power from the amp, like you said. Won't the 1x15" cab break as the 8x10" cab can handle clearly a lot more power? So if I play at 400 watts, 200 of them will go for the 8x10" cab (no problem) and 200 watts to the 1x15" cab, which is clearly too much for it.
I'm really bothered with this so please reply.
