: : Hi again Jenny,

: : Using a separate amp would be the safest way to go. A power amp fed by a line out from your head would be most affordable.
: : It would also make things simpler in terms of wiring.

: : You can try using the two cabs together....just watch carefully for signs that your rig is reacting adversely. Examples of this
: : would be overheating, volume loss or imbalance between the two cabs, or a loss of tone quality. Your stuff may work together
: : perfectly as it is. Its just good to be aware of the potential pitfalls BEFORE they become expenses.

: : I gotta get some sleep.....

: : Aloha!

: Don't fall a sleep just yet Milan.
: You recommended a power amp, well, what exactly is this? Is it just an amp without all the tone nobs and stuff and if you know any good ones I'd be glad to know of them and the pricing of them.
: thanks again Milan!

Jenny,

Exactly! A power amp is an one that, hopefully, does no tone shaping of it's own. It simply amplifies what it is presented with.
There are many brands of power amps out there: Carvin, QSC, Crest,Stewart, Ashdown......are just a few that bass players seem to
gravitate to. Carvin makes decent stuff at very reasonable prices. I would look for a used amp, as considerable savings can be
realized this way. I'm always picking up used power amps for a couple hundred bucks, putzing with them for a while...and selling or
trading them for other stuff I need.

Check out carvin.com for info on their products. www.hhb.co.uk is the distributer for Ashdown product(my favorite, did ya guess?).
There are many otthers out there...

Now.....on to the COFFEE!!!

Good morning world!

Milan
