: hey guys,
: As I mentioned several times, I'm writing a document called the Bass Guitar FAQ, which will one day be as broad as any one document on the subject can be.
: Anyway, I need some help in compiling this document. Most of these things were probably discussed at various times on the boards, but I'll ask them one more time, because it's always good to get things like these near the top of the boards. :)
: What _exactly_ is the difference between single-coil and humbucking pickups? I think Mickster explained this once, but I forge the details. I know it has something to do with that humbuckers are wired "In reverse", but other than that I'm lost.
: Likewise, what is the exact definition of an Active Pickup, and what does it do? How does this differ from Active Electronics?
: Which way do you turn the bridge screws to adjust intonation and action? I've actually done this, but lost my reference materials. :(
: And I guess that's it for now. Anyone who helps will be fully credited in an update of the FAQ, which you can find at If you're unsure as to whether I'm telling the truth about the credit, check out:
: It's my GameFAQs Recognition Page. None of it has to do with basses, but you can read anything marked FAQ and see that full credit is given at the end.

: Final side note: John Myung Signature 6-string for $650 new.....uh oh, I sense a GAS attack coming on.... :)

Emptyeye, I just saw this thread, I was away for a few days. Datsgor pretty much suummed up the humbucker explanation. I forgot EXACTLY what I wrote myself, but, I think you can access it in the archives. Come to think of it, I may do that myself. I forgot my own words... isn't that a shame?

Let me see if I can find it. Talk to you later.
