: anyone here play a Fender Precision?

: are the necks really huge like baseball bats? I wanna try one out but ain't no Fender dealers this side of the river. my hands ain't so big; can the neck size just be gotten used to?

: along the same lines...are the Fender American series P-Basses good quality?

: cheers

I have a p-bass and I love it. ( also have an old BC Rich Eagle and I love that too.) The neck on the p-bass is wide at the top, but I would not call it a baseball bat. Other posters have mentioned that Fender necks will differ. I have played American and Mexican made P-basses and I specifically looked for a Japanese made one. I found it on e-bay for $300 and I have been happy with the purchase. If you buy a P-bass, I would recomend changing the pick-up out for a Seymour Duncan (BassLines) quarter pounder pick-up. I have one on my p-bass and two on my eagle.

Good Luck, Matt
