: Does anyone own a 5 string Yamaha BBG5 Bass?

: What do you think of the bass? Good and Bad points.

: Thanks and God bless,

Hey MCBASS, what's up? I've seen the BBG5 in catalogs and at Yamaha's site, but, never in person. It does look almost exactly the BB5N series, and I own one of these. I think the only differences are: the finishes that the basses come in, and, I think the BBG5 has active electronics. As for the BBN5, this is an excellent bass for the money. It has two pickups like a Fender Jazz bass, and it pretty much is a Jazz bass, it just has Yamaha on the headstock. The quality of workmanship is very good, the pickups are very quiet, and it has a very growly type sound. All this, and it's only about $480.00 w/case. I think they have BBG5s at www.musiciansfriend.com If it says Yamaha on the headstock, you're getting a good quality instrument.

Good luck,
Mickster
