: On my fender jazz there is a horrible dead spot on the G string around the 7th fret. All the other strings are fine, is it the fret or what? How can I fix this? Thanks.
FYI, my Fender American Standard Precision 4 string has a slight dead spot on the 6th fret (Bb) on the E string. Same thing with my Fernandes 4 string but is much more serious. All other notes on all other strings are fine. This is just the way these basses are, I have been told to just live with it.
My Kramer Baretta 522S/P 5 string (which is an awesome bass, especially after I changed the bridge to Hipshot string through), my Danelectro Hodad 4 string, and my Steinberger XT25 5 string all have no dead spot at all.
