: I recently bought a custom 5-string bass from Dave Pushic and I'm find it very neck heavy. The head stock end of the bass sags downward making it harder to relax my left hand (having to hold it up as well). Is there anything I might be able to do to fix this? Perhaps a different, yet safe position for a strap peg?
: Thanks much!

I have two basses with this problem, a Gibson Thunderbird and a Epiphone EB-3, and an easy fix. By a Neotech neoprene strap. The back of these straps is bare rubber, gripping your shoulder very well, and keeping the strap from sliding. The only problem is the cost, I think I paid about $25 for mine, but it was well worth it. They are also good for heavy basses, very wide and stretchy, making even the heaviest basses comfortable. I had a Fender Jazz that weighed 12lbs. and I could play all night comfortably.
