your fingers will harden, time is the answer. ***I'm not a Doctor**** BUT, when I split a finger, I use a little tiny bit of super glue to close it. there is a medical grade super glue I hear, but a minute amount of industrial shouldn't kill you. Have you ever thought about doing some type of meditation exercises? that might help with the pre gig jitters.

: hello everyone, i've been playing bass for a little over a year. I had been playing mostly with a pick until recently when i decided to play with my fingers more. The only problem is that my fingers get really sore after i play and i get blisters a lot on them. I remember reading something about lubricating ur fingers a while back in a magazine but i dont really remember too much about it. Anyways, its really bothersome (not to mention painful) and i was wondering what everyone would advise? Oh and one more thing: i was wondering what any of you all do before performing to stay relaxed because i tend to get a bit nervous. Thanks a lot!
