Yes, I have a GK1001-210. I also have an Ampeg SVT III-Pro head, and just as all Ampegs(whether the classic all tube or tube/solid state hybrid, or a little Ampeg combo)have a characteristic Ampeg sound, so does every GK amp I have ever played have a GK sound. Go to the store and plug in. But, to answer your query, I love this GK, but only when I combine it with a 4x10 cabinet. 2 10s just don't make it for me - I need BOTTOM. The GK's sound-shaping features (EQ, contour, etc.), if you like the GK sound, makes the GK an amazingly flexible head. It's also quite powerful, meaning: LOUD. Fender makes a nice 1 x 15 combo amp, too (but I forget which model it is). So does Ampeg. Go plug in - you'll find what you're looking for.
: Excuse me for my bad english.
: I play with a Warwick Streamer Stage I, 5 strings, with Bassline pick-ups.
: Nowadays I have a little combo, Roland DB500 160 w. It sounds good but i have not enough power sometimes, when I play outdoor.
: I´m looking for a new combo with 2x10 + tweeter, and more watts.
: Has anybody tried the Gallien Krueger 1001RB/210? I have read about it in the web and I like it, and the price is not too expensive.
: Do you have any suggestions about combos?
: I play all styles: folk, fingerfunk, slap, jazz... anything.
: Thank you.
