Hello stranger,

a good question...

IMHO this is up to the player (owner) himself and not for me

to decide. I am only making other bassfriends aware about

these facts.

Would you fit a pickup such as the Realist on your 45.000USD

Zanetto bass ? I wouldn´t ! My Realist is fitted on a low budget

instrument as it feels wrong to put it on my 150 year Schöndorf...

....

The bridge will move around slightly when using your bass "on the road"

a known fact. Will the pickup create larger marks thrue this motion ?

A vital part regarding the sound is the bridge and the way

it makes 100% contact with the top on both two feet.

It takes a good trained luthier to make this fitting properly.

One can only speculate how much the motion and pickup

will reduce the contact area in percent and sound over the years.

If these marks would have appeared on an other less vital part

it would not be as bad. A bridge can be replaced and the cost is

reasonable but a top ?

IMHO it´s most reasonable to make other bassplayers aware

of these marks as there are several other alternatives.

Check Bob Gollihurs fantastic webpages for other pickups.

Kind regards

C.V
