: Meanwhile, a question for you Woods-men: what's a good bass speaker/cabinet to use w/Walter's amp? I play Upright Bass only, and have been dissatisfied w/the JBL 15" bass spkr in a Bag End (ported) cabinet I own. I don't want "2 10s" or anything bigger than what I'm using...Suggestions welcome...

I asked Walter this question a few years ago. He said that his amplifiers were perfectly matched to Electro Voice and Bose speakers. He suggested a 12" or 15" Electro Voice with a horn or the Bose 801.

I've been using an EV Sx100 with a 12" and horn (only 32 lbs). It works great! I'm going to get another Sx100 so I can go stereo or if I need to kick a big band. I'm also using a Fishman Transducer.

BTW you don't need to use a preamp with a Walter Woods product. As you know channel one is matched to electric basses and channel 2 is matched to acoustic or fretless basses. It makes a tremendous difference.

Best regards,

Don
