: Hello: I have had good luck getting advice on this here bass site b/f therefore: can anyone advise possibility of buying a used bass in Italy? I will be in Trieste, FLorence and Milan in May. I currently have $1500 -- $3000 as a budget.

: I am guessing that a Czech instrument in Trieste might be the best deal....advice?

Hi browntrout, I am a Milano-based double bass player. It will be a pleasure for me to advice you if you want, when you will be in Italy. Anyway, the "Czech instrument" that you could find in Trieste would not be very different from the ones that you could find in Milano, Florence,...or even the U.S.! At least not nowadays:only the price is different, of course.I'm afraid that all good bargains have been snapped up years ago...So, feel free to contact me. Ciao!
