: Wondering how to blend a mic with a Realist pickup? What 2 channel preamp do I use? What is the best mic to maybe mount to my bass? I have a good mic but it needs a power supply. Is there anyway to use phantum power from something? Thanks for any info> Michael

To blend a mic with a pickup use a Fishman Acoustic Bass Blender, I use one all the time . You can either plug in 2 seperate mono cables or one stereo (that way you only need 1 lead coming from your bass) and it's got switchable phantom power on 1 channel. Each channel has it's own gain , bass and treble controls together with (on the mic channel)
phantom power, bass cut & phase switches and (on the transducer channel) a seperate phase switch.
There's also a master gain with a mute button you can have it either battery powered or from the mains via an adaptor on the back there's God knows how many outputs -- in short it's the most flexible
bass blender on the market today!
The cheapest place I know of to get it from is Lemur Music &
their service is second to none ! Check it out for specs' on the Fishman
website.
Andy.
