: : I own two double basses but I can only play one of them at a time!
: : I have listed my extra bass for sale but with little reaction.
: : Do any of you have some creative thoughts about getting my extra bass
: : into the correct hands? I have tried several ads and even
: : considered renting my bass to a student. It is a solid top/back
: : ebony parts - 3/4 German bass in excellent condition.
: : Thanks for any novel ideas. Al

: Have you tried talking to the orchestra or band directors at your local high school and/or college? They would probably know a few students interested in your bass and would pass the info on. Many students start lookin to own a bass in their last years of high school. Just a thought. Also, if you have a local music store why not post an ad on their bullitein board? Most music stores I know have boards up w/ bands looking for members, guitars for sale etc. Not like a band and orchestra shop but like a folk music/guitar shop, or even a pawn shop maybe. Good Luck.

:How about taking it to your local luthier and putting it on consignment. You might take a hit on the commision but you'll get your bass seen by more bassists.
