Hi, I'm looking to buy my first string bass. Several of my bass playing friends have told me to hold out for an old Kay, but the ones I've seen are too damaged or pricey; so now I'm investigating Englehardts. If there are any Englehardt players out there, maybe you let me know if there is effectively any difference between the EM-1 and ES-1 models outside of the fingerboards (rosewood vs. ebony). Are they comparable? Does rosewood wear out that faster than ebony? I'm fix'n to play oldtime, bluegrass, and swing jazz music. Thanks, Tim
