: : I have the Barcus Barry Bass pickup system on my upright. I like it cause it just clamps on to the bridge and it is easy to adjust for tone. The preamp sounds nice too with controls for both bass and treble and volume.
: : I run my bass through a Hartke 3500 and an Eden CXM-110 cab. Plenty of low end and you can dial in as much brightness you want. I highly reccomend it. I paid $150.00 from Jim Laabs Music.

: Well, sounds like you may have something working for you but I just tried it out on my bass and it sounded like a fishman. I hated it! All nasal and trebly. It was also horribly uneven. The E string was 10 times louder than the G and it would feed back if I turned it up to even 2. Looks like I will stick with my Realist and send this BB back to Lemur. The preamp was lame too. I don't want to wear a preamp (beltmount).
I'll agree on the E string dillema, but I EQ it a little flatter on the low end and it seems to balance out for me. I also strap the preamp to the tailpiece and doesn't seem to give me any problems. When I do experience feedback, I just EQ it out. I set the preamp with the treble almost off and the bass flat with the volume about 3/4 up. I agree that it is a bright pickup. I have not used any other types for upright so I am going on my experience on this one alone. I'm sure there are better ones out there.
