Try this - Put a small piece of medium fine steel wool & a paper towel with a tablespoon of olive oil soaked into it in a plastic sandwich baggie - use the steel wool to clean the figerboard then rub it w/ the paper towel - olive oil is non-toxic, easy to clean up, and fairly light; it does soak into my ebony boards....When this "cleaning kit" gets dirty throw it away & replace it....One downside to this - The "cleaning kit" bears a strong resemblance to a bag of "weed".....
