: I am looking to buy a new set of strings. I have been playing bluegrass for ten years and have been using spirocores for the past few years.I don't do any slapping. Other players have recomended Pirastro Flexocor but I have never tried them. What do you think of the flexocor? Thank You, Jeff

They're among my favorites, but beware, they give a warm tone without much sustain.
They're an orchestra string, basically, so don't expect deep growl and sustain like what you get with the Spirocores!
Only consider them if you want a more gut-like tone.

Hope this helps.
