: Hi everyone!

: I have just read about the Clevinger "Natural Presence" pick up (if you haven't you are welcome to click on this link to know more: http://www.clevinger.com/npdbasspickup.htm).

: Has anyone tried it already? is it going to compete with the Realist since it's in the same price range? Please post your thoughts on the board.

: Best,
: Fernando

I haven't heard the new Clevinger pickup but I just clicked onto the web page and it does look interesting.
I myself won't be changing pickups though as I have the Rich Barbera system on both of my basses and the sound you get out of it is stunning. If you want to hear the Barbera pickup phone Rich on :- (718) 816 - 3025 or write to him at:-
Barbera Transducer Systems,
21 Louis Street,
Staten Island,
NY 10304
He will send you a demo tape with some pieces played by Rufus Reid on it - the right channel has the bass sound through a studio quality Neumann mic and the left channel has the bass sound coming straight from the pickup, the idea being that you can compare the 2. It's worth phoning him just to hear the tape.
The Barbera system IS a lot more money ( around $450 ) but it really is worth it .
All the best,
Andy.
