: : I haven't heard the new Clevinger pickup but I just clicked onto the web page and it does look interesting.
: : I myself won't be changing pickups though as I have the Rich Barbera system on both of my basses and the sound you get out of it is stunning.

: Dear Andy,
: I did hear the Barbera tape and honestly I haven't noticed this incredible difference from the realist. I am sorry, i just don't think it's worth all that money, especially thinking that you cannot switch the system from one bass to the other since it is embedded in the bridge.
: Just my $0.02 by the way.

Fernando,
No worries mate - everyone is entitled to their own opinion in fact I've got to agree with you over the fact that you can't switch it between basses - that is a bummer but the sound it chucks out makes it worth it.
As I said I won't be changing as I'm happy with the settup I've got and in the last 20-odd years I've tried a helluva lot of pickups but the Barbera beats them all hands down.My advice to you would be to find someone who has got the Clevinger pickup and go and listen to them before you shell out your bucks (I can feel an arguement between me and Ed coming on - see "Shell of former self" down the page a bit) then if you are happy buy it - but listen to it first don't just take word of mouth, remember it's your money !
Andy.
