Hi, I am in Sydney as well and am fairly new at upright, after playing electric for 20 years,so I know what your asking. The only good shop is The Bass Shop in Cabrita ask for Alan on 9736 1981. I have just bought an "Artiste" bass though through The Australian Academy of Music in Brisbane and got a great deal. I got the Bass (solid wood not composite/laminate) for a great price.
