Don't forget Ray Brown, who is always recorded clearly, has great intonation, and swings his butt off. Get any of Oscar Peterson's 50's & early 60's records he's on, Like Sound of the Trio or the Stratford recording they did with Herb. Or anything he did with Monty Alexander and / or Milt Jackson like That's the Way It Is, or Very Tall.
Play with records, sing everything you play; work with the bow and a good classical teacher to get the board down.
Ps: Re the 1st few replies. Glad to see some of us still have a sense of humour. It's good to have fun too!!
