: Hi. I'm new to the electric bass stuff. I'm wondering where would be the best place to buy a beginning bass for a resonable price in the U.S.A. But I have been seachering around on the net for a while and I've found two basses that are resonable for my range of price. At http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ex/shop/bass/010802194736131156097035354170?pid=519243 I found a great priced rouge bass for $80. Then at http://www.music123.com/Item/Item.asp?po=Squ0310400580&uid=B1037265B60848038137E9A1B6A4FCE1 I found a squire bass for $140. Whitch would be the better buy? Thanks, ~david.

Hello David -

This board is for upright basses, not electric, but many of us play both. I would suggest a Fender Squier over a Rogue; it will probably not only be made better, but the resale price should be better. You would probably be best advised to visit some local music stores and check out their stock of beginner basses as well.
