: I've been cleaning house and decided to sell some strings I don't want. I have a G,A, and E string 3/4 Spirocore Weich (orch. tuning), which is a very common string for jazz. I had this set on my bass in the spring of 2000 for less than 2 months. A burr on my tuning peg messed up the D string, and I had a brand new set of Pirastro Jazzers I had been sent to try, so I took them off. Soon after I tried the Velvets and discovered that I really prefer the old school gut sound, so I'm not likely to use these anymore. Current Spirocore users include Marc Johnson, Wayne Darling, Ray Brown (listed endorsers from Thomastic website) and Robert Hurst (When I talked to him at Blues Alley in the fall).

: The best listed price for these 3 strings I could find was $79. I will sell them for $40 and I'll pay shipping in the US. If you know Spiros, they improve dramatically with age (They are almost impossible to bow when new, IMHO). Contact me at

These strings were just sold.
