The main problem with the Cremona is that the ones that sell on e-bay for under 500$ usually require a new fingerboard, a new set of string, a new bridge, a new tailpiece cable and a new endpin, plus a few hours of skilled work to be playable... so that you are in the 1500$ range!
You'd get an Englehardt for that price. And Kays/Englehardts are not particularly good basses (I'll get fried for that), not too long ago you could not sell one for more that a half grand, but now that acoustic/unplugged music is back in fashion...
Congratulation for digging out a good Cremona, David, what did you pay for it ?
