: I'm currently searching for a cheap-goodsounding bass, and I have

: Does anybody have any experience with these basses, reputation, sound, durability??
: I've read some very bad reports on this board regarding Cremora, so I need
: to be careful............thanks from the chilly north.

David Gage, a top luthier in N.Y.C., has been selling Christopher basses to some very important clients. Michael Moore uses one in the Dave Brubeck Quartet in concerts and recordings. Unfortunately, they are so shiny you have to wear a welder's goggles when you play. Some people have had them deglossed. They're plywood, made in China. So far, they look like a good value.
