: Polytone amps are very dry sounding...that is probably where your problem is. I doubt I can find a finer sounding pickup than the Realist. Try Acoustic Image Contra. It is REALLY loud, and REALLY light! It has a very natural sound, that fills rooms nicely. You may also like the sound of a Gallien-Krueger MB150.
: They are really popular. A very compact unit, 150 watts through a single 12" speaker. They only way about 25lbs! They have a very good EQ that gives a huge variety of tone options. It is up to you.

I have to agree. I tried my realist through a GK combo the other day and was very impressed.
