Here is what I use. I have an Acoustic Image Clarus that I use with a Euphonic Audio 1x10 that also has a 5" speaker and a horn built into it. I use a Realist. This setup works very well in 99% of venues. The Clarus could have a little bit more power. That is the 1% negative. Latin gigs are often loud and if you play with a hard hitting drummer you might consider something else but for standards and jazz you don't want the bass to be way out in front anyway. This is something that I see great players are often guilty of and I can't understand it. On the other hand, I really dislike the sound of the Contra and can't hear what a lot of players seem to hear in it. It is a very muddy, non-cutting cabinet, in my opinion. I also feel that the GK can have a nice sound with the Realist but can also have a really "dooinky" tone as well. I have my cab on a little dolly that you can buy at Office Max or K-Mart and it is strapped in to it all the time. My clarus is held on to the cabinet by the bungy cords. This way, the only time I have to lift the cabinet is when I load it into the car. I can push the dolly and carry my bass all in one trip (bass over should with backpack strap). Kind of rambling on when I should be practicing. Good luck.
