I've just purchased an Aguilar DB359 200 watt all tube bass head for my Double bass. I've tried everything, and nothing sounds as warm or fat, and yet retains clarity than the Aguilar. It is a fabulous amplifier. I have played through Walter Woods amps before, and I find the Aguilar a little warmer. Thats not to say I don't like WW, they are fantastic, I just think the Aguilar suits me better. You might want to try out the Acoustic Image Clarus amplifier as well. It is very clear sounding, and does not color the sound. In order to run the amp for it's full 300 watts you have to run it at 2ohms though. The Aguilar gives you full 200 watts RMS at 8ohms. Gallien-Krueger also has very un-colored output. It has a wide variety of tone options too. The RB700 also weighs very little. It is up to you. I've tried pretty much everything.
