: look for the early 60's West Coast stuff he was on with guys like Paul Horn (yes, Paul Horn, the echo flute guy. He sounded great on alto sax back then). Go to a small jazz specialty record store; they'll dig more up for you.
I vaguely remember a live Dizzy album from the early 70's...maybe Art Balkey was on it, too. Al's playing on that was one of the reasons I fell in love with the bass.
