Well. I think that the EA cabs are the best out there and I have played a lot of different rigs. I have an EA 10x5x2 and I use a Acoustic Image Clarus amp. I think that this is just about the best system out there and I get a lot of compliments on the sound. I have tried Walter Woods, Bag End, GK, the Contra (Acoustic Image), Ampeg, SWR, and many others. I am not dissing any of these fine amps or cabs but this has been what works for me. I have a great old Bohemian bass with a Realist and this setup really projects the actual tone of the bass and nothing else. No feedback, no distortion, just clear tone. I have tried some of the other cabs that EA makes and didn't like them as much (the 2x8 and the 1x10) so try and search for a cab that has all 3 speakers. The site doesn't list it but if you contact them they will help you out I think. I still use a mic (Audio Technica ATM-35) when I play bigger venues with a board but for most gigs this works perfectly. Good luck and it may take a while to find the perfect system for your bass and playing style. Michael Papillo
