: I'm looking for a 15" cab to match with an acoustic image clarus head (120W into 8 ohms). I play 90% acoustic bass and am looking for a big full warm clear sound. I also sing occasionally on some gigs and would like a cab that could go full range sometimes, but that is not a must--bass sound is the highest priority. Lite weight is important too.

: I'm considering the flite, the bag end s15x-d, and the raezers edge so far. Anyone heard any of these side by side? I'm especially curious to know how the flite compares w/the bag end. Thanks!

The Bag End is a great cabinet, very clear and efficient. However, I wouldn't recommend a 15" speaker for use with a Double bass. It sounds very good when you are right next to it, but sounds like mud in the audience. You would be better off with a 12" if you want that big smooth sound. Aguilar has come out with a very light full range 12" cabinet which sounds deep and clear, but also projects well. Bag End also makes a s12d which is a great sounding, light cabinet. You may even consider 10", which are probably the most used by acoustic upright players. 10" speakers are much more "quick", they don't speak slowly like a 15", and therefore don't muddy up the sound. I hope I have been some help!
