: But as far as getting a big warm open sound out of the bass like Ray Brown and Christian MacBride, well those guys get that sound out of the BASS, not out of a speaker.

Really? The sound comes from the BASS? Not the speaker?

I thought, you know, if I got the same kind of set up that these guys have then I would automatically sound just like them...

Are you sure that the sound comes from the bass? I did not know that! Thanks so much for enlightening me....:^)

FWIW, McBride's website says he uses a 15" bag end, and ray brown has been using a 15" polytone for damn-near EVER.

The comment above mentioning that these guys aren't filling the room with their amps is a point well-taken. I'll be looking at the aguilar gs 112 today and hope that that will be a great solution for URB and also for electric.

Thanks for your input.
