Yeah, Ed, I feel you, I know lots of cats are like that, but McBride and Brown are always reminding me that it's in your hands, not even in the bass, never mind the amplification. I just want the amp to do as much justice as possible to the sound I'm able to produce with my hands and the bass.

Two cabs? Yeah, that's a thought. I'm trying to streamline, but maybe it's not realistic. Sounds llke the aguilar gs 112 could do both, and then I could add a 1X15 as needed for bigger gigs. Sometimes I double on the gig, but usually it's one or the other.

I'm still really suspicious of a single 10" for upright. Does that really work? Do you get any kind of meaty bottom? If so, which 10 do you recommend? What are you using?
