: Well, I would have to say that the reputation that the Woods has of being the best amp in the world is well deserved.
: I've had the LoPower model for about 4 years now, with no problems, no situation in which I couldn't get a sound I was happy with, from dives to concert halls, duos to big bands. I also know, personally, bassists who have had a Woods in excess of 15 years, several trips to Europe and Japan, again with NO PROBLEMS EVER.
: I play exclusively upright and exclusively jazz and for me the amp is perfect.

Just posting with my $.02 in favor of the Walter Woods amp. It took less than a year for mine to arrive after ordering. I got the Ultra Hi-power model and am running it through a Euphonic Audio VL-210 4 ohm cabinet. This is one fine sounding set-up! I talked with Walter twice before ordering and he was patient in answering every question I had. He is a first-class individual and I can recommend his product without any hesitation whatsoever. I haven't been playing the amp for very long, and of course have had absolutely no problems at all. I go out of my way to take the best care of all my equipment; however, if I should ever have any problem with the amp, I'm confident Walter would go above and beyond to make it right. To anyone who is even remotely interested in purchasing a Walter Woods amp-- GO FOR IT!! It is well worth the wait, and you'll be glad you did.
