: : : I actualy play guitar normally but Im thinking it would be cool to try it for a little while. Is there anything about bass that is very unatractive? i.e it is very fucking hard to get good tone and requires lot and lots of practice.

:

: : Yes, on both counts. If difficulty and practice are unattractive to you, don't waste your time.

: Agreed - it IS hard to get good tone and DOES require lot and lots of practice.

: Make sure you have access to a decent instrument - not necessarily something really expensive - but well set-up...good bridge in proper adjustment, good strings, decent bow. School basses are especially notorious.

I hope I don't seem lazy to you guys. By lots and lots of practice I meant that your going to soundlike a dying cat unles syou get a good three hours a day. Im just wondering if double bass is an especially hard (compared to say cello or somthing) to play.

By the way how is it tuned? it would be cool if it were in a femiliar tuning like eadg or even dadg
