: By God, Andy, we actually agree fully and without hesitation on something! Stop the Presses!
: Joe, I changed strings back in May. I found the receipt for the strings I had on previously, it's dated 22 Dec 1997. The G string was finally shot.
: Like Andy says, that's what your ear is for. You'll hear the fundamental going or the winding rattling or the harmonics won't be true to pitch or the tuning will always slip after holding true for a long time or it just doesn't have the punch or the tone or the character that you loved so much when you put the strings on.
: Use your ear.

Damn Ed , us agreeing on something now that really is scary !!!!
We'll have to stop doing that or else we'll ruin our reputations !
Catch you later ,
Andy .
