: I have a 1945 Kay bass M-1 in near mint condition. Its been passed down through the family and I think its time to sell her. Any suggestions on how much to ask for it? It has the serial number stamped in the bass as well as on the tag which reads Kay Bass Viol. It also has Kay on the tailpiece and up where the winders are. Thanks
Market price varies with location. NYC prices are higher. I sold my 50's S-1 for $3,200 in a few days. Good Kays can easily get $2,500-3,000 here. Elsewhere, it's a different story.
